Network monitoring - new features

 

Our network monitoring service (Netmon) has gained a few features.  These new options are live on all Microtech servers now.

Network tests
DNS Fail over support for round robin clusters has been added.  This allows you to monitor individual nodes in a round robin cluster and disable those nodes in DNS so they are no longer part of the cluster when individual nodes fail.  When the node recovers it is added back to dns and becomes part of the round robin cluster again.

Alert profiles
Support for emailing third parties has been added to the alert profiles.  This allows you to notify other users, perhaps clients, with a completely customised message letting them know that an issue has occurred and that you are dealing with it. Example emails will be posted to the knowledge base shortly as various email variables can be used.
