Web site monitoring and dns fail over
Microtech's web site and monitoring service is designed to enable you to continually check the availability and performance of your internet based services and servers from independent connections worldwide.
Your netmon service will detect any availability issues and notify you via email, instant messaging, SMS, or any combination of these. In conjunction with our DNS services, fail over dns to an alternative server if desired, re-direct the user to another URL anywhere, or display a custom web page if there is a problem with your site. We also support escalation of outstanding outages to alternate recipients and contact methods.
The use of multiple monitoring servers in different worldwide locations to perform the testing means false positives are kept to a minimum. The majority of servers must agree that the service is down for a notification to be sent.
Current tests include POP, SMTP, HTTP, IMAP, FTP, Telnet, SSH, DNS, and more. We also have a probe you can copy to client servers to monitor free disk space, services, cpu usage etc. Communication of the probe is outbound only over port 80 via HTTP so there are no firewall or security issues to worry about. You can schedule testing of these services at various intervals from 3 minutes upwards.

There is no limit to the number of tests you can setup. Pricing is based on our simple 'webzones' system. 1 webzone (pricing here) being required for each test you setup. You can monitor your web site for just £10 a year, less if you have more sites to monitor. Extra payments can be made on account for advanced 'pay as you go' features such as SMS alerts.
